Coconut Grove’s Annual Pumpkin Patch Festival

By: Johnny Trabs/Blogger

Just because we live in Miami doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the start of the fall season.  Families from all over South Florida will flock to the Grove for an amazing autumn celebration, The Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival! The festival will feature 2 days full of activities for the entire family to spend the whole day at the beautiful Peacock Park. One of the main attractions is a huge pumpkin patch in the center of the park with more than 2,000 pumpkins to pick from. From miniature and pie pumpkins to basketball sized Jack-O-Lanterns and gourds of all sizes at very reasonable prices. Once you’ve picked your own pumpkin, for only $5, you can personalize it at the Pumpkin Decorating Station. There will be plenty of physical entertainment for the children. Kids can run around in the Giant Hay Maze and play in the Kids Zone with plenty of rides and a bounce house.

Don’t forget about the Dress-Your-Own Scarecrow Village and the ongoing shows on the main stage. Plenty of fun will be had by adults as well. Make sure you come hungry as there will be a Foodie Feast area serving breakfast, lunch and a variety of snacks through out the day. Once your belly is full you can walk it off as you shop from more than 20 local vendors. In case parents forget their cameras over all the excitement, you need not worry. There will be a professional photography station set up in the pumpkin patch to capture all the smiles and magical moments. Hope to see you there as we celebrate the start of a wonderFALL season at the Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival!

When: September 29 & 30, 2012 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
